DETROIT (WWJ) – Lions fans are out in full force Sunday morning in Downtown Detroit as the team prepares to take on the rival Chicago Bears.

As fans fire up the tailgates and hit the bars, the Detroit Police Department is out with a reminder for fans to be cautious of what they leave in their cars.

Whether it’s a parking garage, surface lot or street parking, DPD officials say you shouldn’t leave valuables in your car.

“Many vehicle break-ins happen because personal items are left in plain view. Remember, thieves tend to grab first and think later,” said a statement posted to social media Sunday morning.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Ford Field. Stay tuned to WWJ Newsradio 950 for all the latest traffic updates across the city every 10 minutes on the :08s. >>> LISTEN LIVE!
