WESTLAND (WWJ) -- A Clinton Township man accused of crashing a car into the terminal at Detroit Metro Airport is behind bars in a separate case.
According to the Westland Police Department, 37-year-old Brian Sutton appeared in Westland's 18th District Court on Friday for an arraignment on a charge of aggravated stalking.
A judge set his bond at $250,000 cash or surety, with a GPS tether and no contact with the victim if he is released.
While Sutton sits in jail on that case, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is considering a separate warrant request from Airport Authority Police.
While Sutton has not been charged in connection with the Feb. 23 DTW crash, Westland Police Deputy Chief Robert Wilkie said Sutton is the same person who is being investigated in the airport case.
Sutton could be charged OWI, reckless driving, and malicious destruction of property for the crash at the McNamara Terminal, but there is no arraignment scheduled yet as the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office that the case was still being reviewed.
Six people at the airport suffered minor injuries. Cement barriers are now in place in front of the terminal doors as a safety precaution.
While additional details about the stalking case were not released, Wilkie said the alleged stalking incident did not take place on the same day as the airport crash.
