BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. (WWJ) -- A high school student in Oakland County was suspended, after a photo he posted on social media caused a scare.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton reported, Friday morning, that students and parents of students at Groves High School in Beverly Hills may notice an increased police presence on campus.
This comes after a high schooler posted a photo on social media that included a number of rifles.
Langton reports the photo did not indicate a direct threat against anyone in particular, or against the school in general, and there is not believed to be any danger to students.
Groves High School officials said in an email to families that they were notified about the photo by law enforcement, after someone reported it through the anonymous reporting system "OK2Say."
Investigators went to the student's home, and the school will be cooperating with police on the case.
The student will not be returning to school pending further investigation.
Students anywhere in Michigan who see or hear something that may threaten students, teachers or school safety are encouraged to submit tips to the confidential OK2Say line at 8-555-OK2SAY (855-565-2729), or through the OK2Say app.
Tips may also be submitted anonymously by texting information to 652729

The Michigan State Police says it will take seriously and investigate any potential threat of school violence.
