CLYDE TWP. (WWJ) – A pregnant woman and her unborn child have died after a crash involving a 17-year-old driver in St. Clair County Wednesday morning.

The sheriff's office received 911 calls reporting the teen was "erratically driving a white pickup truck" in the vicinity of Wadhams and North Lightle Roads in Clyde Township around 8 a.m.

Several minutes later the teen, from Port Huron, was driving his white 2000 Ford Ranger north on North Road when he crossed the centerline and collided with the victim's Ford Focus.

The 28-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, and the unborn child both died.

The teen suffered minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.

Authorities did not release any other details about the crash, including whether alcohol or drugs appeared to be a factor.
