WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) -- A West Bloomfield man was arrested Monday morning after police say he fired multiple shots into his neighbors' home.
No one was injured in the shooting at around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 24, in the 7400 block of Coach Lane, just north of W. 14 Mile Rd.
According to West Bloomfield Police, a woman called 911 to report that her husband was having a mental health breakdown, was wearing a ballistic vest, and had fired a gun into their neighbors’ home.
Police immediately responded, and found a man "acting erratically with a firearm" in his front yard.
When the man resisted arrest, police said, the officers used a Taser to subdue him.
The officers were then able to disarm the man, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
An investigation found that the suspect had walked across the street to his neighbors’ home. While on the way over, Nest cam video shows he fired a single gunshot straight up into the air.
Once on the neighbors' porch, police said the man kicked the front door in an apparent attempt to gain entry. Unsuccessful, he broke out a window and fired three rounds with a suppressed semi-automatic handgun, police said. The shooter then retreated back to his house.
There were people inside the home at the time, police said, but no one was shot.
The man booked in the West Bloomfield Police Station where he remained in custody, Monday afternoon. His name has not been released, with expected charges pending.
An investigation by the West Bloomfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
