Explosion at Valero Refinery rocks nearby homes

— Allen---- (@ImTheCameraGuy) April 10, 2020 An explosion at the Valero Meraux Refinery rocked St. Bernard residents early this morning. St Bernard Fire Chief Thomas Stone tells WWL-TV that one of the refinery units exploded around 1 a.m. and firefighters were able to contain the fire around 3 a.m.
Residents across the river, in nearby Algiers, tell WWL-TV that the blast shook their homes and set off car alarms. There are reports of at least one worker injured but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
