While the Saints continue to crunch the numbers on a new contract for receiver Michael Thomas, they have added some more depth to the linebacker position signing Josh Martin. The 27 year old spent most of last season on injured reserve after suffering his second concussion in five weeks.
Martin’s best season came in 2017 when he produced 31 tackles, 1.5 sacks and eight quarterback hits in 14 games for the Jets. In his career, he’s appeared in 51 games with 10 starts, totaling 61 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 10 hits on the QB while playing in New York, Kansas City, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis.
The addition of the 6ft3, 245 pounder gives the Saints more pass rushing options and on special teams.
