Orgeron: Damone Clark 'might be the most improved player on the team'

LSU football coach Ed Orgeron joined WWL Radio’s Sports Talk Wednesday and discussed some of the position battles taking place this Spring.

One position Orgeron said he’s watching closely is at linebacker. He said several players have already impressed during the practices.

“Damone Clark might be the most improved player on the team,” Orgeron said. “He learned how to be physical at the point of attack. He’s using his hands…”

Orgeron said he was also impressed by junior college transfer Navonteque Strong.

“He will strike you and is Mississippi strong, tough, great young man,” Orgeron said. “I love him. I think he’s gonna be and excellent player.”

He also expects Clemson transfer Mike Jones to compete for a starting position when he arrives on campus.
