Look: Saints rookie QB Tyler Shough welcomes first child

It's already been a busy first NFL offseason for Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, but who can now add "new dad" to his growing list of titles.

Tyler and Jordan Shough announced this week the birth of their first child, Grayson, news shared by the team on Wednesday. The pair had shared the news that they were expecting during the season.

The news marks an interesting parallel in Saints quarterback history, with Drew Brees also welcoming his first child, Baylen, in New Orleans in 2009. The Saints went on to win their only Super Bowl the following season. Brees holding a then 1-year-old Baylen as the postgame confetti fell was one of the iconic images of that title run.

The week for the Shoughs tops off what has been a thriving span of weeks since the end of the 2025 regular season. Shough took over as starter in Week 9 and led the team to a 5-4 finish -- including a four-game winning streak -- after a 1-7 start to the year. Shough was voted as Pepsi Rookie of the Year in a fan vote, but finished second to Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan for the league's official prize. That news was announced at NFL Honors by Shough's father in law Derek Wormdahl, with Jordan at home and Grayson due just a few weeks later.

The young Saints QB has also been busy on the interview circuit, making appearances on a host of podcasts and shows up through the Super Bowl earlier this month. Shough also took in his first Mardi Gras, serving as grand marshal for the Krewe of Pygmalion parade.
