Marrero man pleads guilty to three bank robberies in three weeks says DOJ

A Marrero man pleads guilty to robbing three banks in the span of three weeks.

According to the Department of Justice, Zachary Verdin, 29, robbed a Capital One bank in Marrero on July 19. He stole $521 in that robbery.

One week later, Verdin robbed a Chase Bank in New Orleans, where he made off with approximately $1,000 in that robbery A Marrero man pleads guilty to robbing three banks in the span of three weeks.

According to the Department of Justice, Zachary Verdin, 29, robbed a Capital One bank in Marrero on July 19. He stole $521 in that robbery.

One week later, Verdin robbed a Chase Bank in New Orleans, where he made off with approximately $1,000 in that robbery.

The following week, Verdin robbed a third bank. This time a Regions Bank in Gretna where he got away with approximately $12,540 in that robbery. In total Verdin stole $14,061.

Verdin faces up to 20 years in prison and three years supervised release. He is scheduled to be sentenced by a federal judge on February 22, 2022.
