VOWS, NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, in conjunction with U.S. Marshalls have arrested 56-year-old Tracey Wright in connection to the January 24th killing of 51-year-old Ferdinand Alexander in the Fillmore District on Perlita Street near the intersection of Owens Boulevard.
Around two o’clock in the afternoon on that day NOPD officers responded to the location and found Alexander down with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Wright as the perpetrator. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Wright on one count of second-degree murder.
On Thursday, Wright was found and arrested at a residence in the Fifth District.
He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
