Toddler wounded in Algiers double shooting

A double shooting Algiers has left a two-year-old and an adult in the hospital.

According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, that shooting happened around 9:35 last night on General DeGaulle near Texas Drive.

Investigators say the victims were in a car traveling down General DeGaulle when someone in another car began shooting at them. The child was shot in the foot and hand. The adult suffered a leg wound.

The NOPD spokesperson says officers learned of the shooting after the victims showed up at a hospital and personnel there called authorities. The case remains under investigation.
