CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was shot and killed in a Rogers Park home early Tuesday morning, Chicago police said.

Authorities said around 3:30 a.m. someone started knocking on the back door of an apartment in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road. They allegedly pushed the door open and began shooting, police said.

A 45-year-old resident, who was standing in the living room, was hit a number of times in his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has been identified as Quentin Pruett. His family said he was visiting friends and family in Chicago from Green Bay, Wis.

A witness in the apartment called 911 and said the shooter ran northbound down an aller afterward.

Area Three detectives are investigating. No one has been arrested.
