It’s been a big year for Nate Smith. After being named ACM New Male Artist of the Year, The California native-released his highly anticipated sophomore album, California Gold, in the fall. The 16-track album features his hit, “Bulletproof,” in addition to other standouts including, “Can You Die From A Broken Heart” featuring Avril Lavigne and “I Like It” with Alesso.
“California Gold is an evolution of my sound, but also an evolution of me as a person,” Smith said upon the album’s release. “I always say, ‘find a reason to make music that is greater than yourself.’ Once you lock that in, everything else will fall into place.”
Following the release of the album, Smith was also nominated for CMA New Artist Of the Year. While the award went to label mate, Megan Moroney, being a nominee in the category was an accomplishment in itself with the amount of emerging talent in the Country genre.
