The most discussed sports team was the L.A. Lakers. The Top 10 included the L.A. Dodgers, and several European soccer teams.
The most discussed sporting event worldwide was Super Bowl 54.
#COVID19 was the most-Tweeted hashtag, followed by #BlackLivesMatter.
PRESIDENT TRUMP was the most Tweeted about person . . . followed by Joe Biden, George Floyd, Kobe Bryant, and Barack Obama.
Twitter has a reputation for being a NEGATIVE experience at times, but this year brought on some positivity. Tweets expressing being grateful or thankful increased by 20% globally . . .
Twitter says there was a significant bump in the recognition of doctors (up 135%), teachers (up 30%), and essential / frontline workers. (That phrase was Tweeted more than 17 million times this year.)
The most Tweeted emojis were: The "lol" face, the crying face, the "pleading face" with the bleary eyes, the "rolling on the floor laughing" face, and the smiling face with the heart eyes.
