The Chelsea-Approved Snow Day Activities List (Yes There Will Be Wine)

Cozy Snow Day

Ahhh yes...the rare Hampton Roads snow day. Anyone that is from the 757 knows our weather is as bipolar Kanye's political views, and also are well aware that even the smallest of dustings completely turns our community upside down. Most of us actually benefit from the chaos, because we get a magical day off from work or school (and ignore the sneers and side eyes from our friends and relatives in the north that plow through feet of snow every day). Sometimes an extra 24 hours of free time can be daunting- should you relax? take a nap? binge watch that show you've been putting off? get more work done? (aka you over achievers, gross).

If you’re having a little trouble deciding, take a look at my Chelsea-approved Ultimate Snow Day Guideline:

1. Sleep in, and then make yourself a delicious breakfast with a piping hot cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

2. Give yourself a mini spa day: draw a warm bath with lavender Epsom salt, light a few candles, and play some relaxing music in the background.

3. Catch up on a series you've been wanting to binge or read a good book (don't forget the popcorn).

4. Be a kid again! Go outside and have a snowball fight (or a snow dust fight, there might not be enough snow), and then come back inside and make blanket forts.

5. Read a book under a cozy blanket.

6. Get creative: write, paint, play some music.

7. Crack open a bottle of wine and organize your room/closet/kitchen.

8. Find your inner 70 year-old and finish a puzzle.

9. Snuggle with your pets and watch an old Disney movie (use stuffed animals/pillows/significant other as a substitute).

10. Order Chinese food or something equally as delicious and have a picnic in your living room.

And if all else fails, just do absolutely nothing aaaaall day long (while drinking wine)! Click here for more snow day ideas
