NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- ‘Saturday Night Live’ has announced its first host and musical guest of 2022 after ending 2021 with one of its oddest episodes ever.

NBC announced actress Ariana DeBose will host with rapper Roddy Ricch as the musical performer on the upcoming Jan. 15 "SNL" show.

DeBose stars as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” and also recently appeared in Netflix’s “The Prom” and Apple TV+’s “Schmigadoon!” which was executively produced by Lorne Michaels and starred  current ‘SNL’ cast member Cecily Strong.

DeBose’s career first rose on Broadway with appearances in “Hamilton,” “Bring It On: The Musical,” “Motown: The Musical” and “A Bronx Tale.” She also garnered a Tony nomination in “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.”

Roddy Ricch, a 23-year-old rapper from Compton, California, is best known for the No. 1 single “The Box.” His latest album “Live Life Fast” came out last month, with features from Jamie Foxx, Future, 21 Savage and more.

According to Deadline, the show is being planned to have full cast, crew and audience, but whether that will come to fruition remains to be seen.

The Paul Rudd-hosted 2021 finale only featured two current cast members (Kenan Thompson and Michael Che), guest spots from Tina Fey and Tom Hanks and no audience. Classic sketches filled the holes left by a lack of live sketches at their disposal.
