Gwyneth Paltrow testified in the civil trial for a ski accident that happened over seven years ago.
The actress took the stand to discuss details behind the accident, which happened on February 26, 2016 at the Deer Valley Ski Resort in Utah. She’s being sued by Terry Sanderson, the other involved in the collision.
Paltrow testified that she was skiing with her two children and her husband Brad Falchuk, when “Mr. Sanderson [the accuser] skied directly into my back,” according to Good Morning America.
Paltrow then claimed that when Sanderson allegedly skied into her, she felt a “rush of air,” “two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart and there was a body pressing against me. And there was a very strange grunting noise. So my brain was trying to make sense of what was happening.”
“I was extremely upset,” she said. “I didn’t know if it was an intentional assault of a sexual nature.”
Post-collision, Paltrow said she recalls her and Sanderson allegedly hitting the ground and “pushing away because I was very upset.”
Paltrow then claimed Sanderson apologized after she skied on and yelled at him.
Sanderson’s lawyer asked Paltrow if she felt “empathy for Mr. Sanderson’s declining brain.” A result of the crash, he claims.
“I really do. I feel very sorry for him. It seems like he’s had a very difficult life,” she answered.
“But I did not cause the accident,” she continued. “So I cannot be at fault for anything that subsequently happened to him.”

Sanderson filed a lawsuit in 2019 where he accused Paltrow of hitting him on the slopes at the resort, leaving him “seriously injured.”
