The words “Yo, I’ll tell you want I want, what I really, really want,” turn 25-years old today, and to celebrate the landmark anniversary of their hit track, “Wannabe” the Spice Girls are sending heartfelt messages to fans around the globe and releasing a limited edition Wannabe25 EP.

“Wannabe” debuted on July 8, 1996, and quickly reached the top of the charts around the world after its release. Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Victoria Beckham, and Geri Halliwell went on to sell nearly 90 million records worldwide with the release of “Wannabe” and the success that came with Spice.
On Instagram Bunton wrote, “Feeling very emotional, what an amazing 25 years it has been. Thank you to our wonderful fans for making 5 girls' dreams come true loving the songs that we wrote, copying our dance routines, and embracing our individuality!"
Horner posted throwback photos of the girl group and explained that ‘Wannabe’ was “the song that changed the lives of five girls from Britain".
The Spice Girls’ limited edition Wannabe25 EP will arrive on Friday and includes the original track, original demo recordings, a remix, and a demo of the previously unreleased ballad, “Feed Your Love.” In addition, the group launched a campaign asking fans to share their favorite memories with the hashtag, “IAmASpiceGirl.”
Mel B shared, “We wouldn’t be anywhere without you and can’t thank you enough for all the love we’ve had from all of you for two and a half decades.”
The 25th anniversary reminds us that we all have a little Spice Girls within us!
