
UPPER DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP (1010 WINS) — One person was killed and 16 were injured when a van carrying 16 passengers ran a stop sign and slammed into a sedan in Upper Deerfield Township.

Heriberto Espinoza, 29, was driving his Chevy Express 3500 van on Polk Lane just after 6 p.m. when he t-boned a Nissan Maxima on State Highway 77.
The front seat passenger in the van, 35-year-old Rey Cornelio Diaz, was thrown through the windshield and killed, and the van was flipped on its side.
The driver of the Nissan was injured along with all fifteen of the other passengers, though Espinoza escaped unharmed.
Emergency responders brought all 16 injured to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
