13-year-old injured in NJ shooting, teen suspect in custody: officials

MILLVILLE, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A teen is in custody after another teen boy was shot Wednesday night in New Jersey and airlifted to an area hospital, the authorities said.

The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. on North 5th Street in Millville, police Capt. Ross Hoffman said.

According to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, a 13-year-old boy was injured in the shooting and flown to Cooper University Hospital.

The boy was listed in stable condition, offcials said.

Authorities said a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody.

“Incident is isolated and does not pose a threat to the general public,” the prosecutor’s office said in a brief statement.

More information surrounding the shooting was not immediately released.
