EDISON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Two teens have been charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal crash in Edison last month that killed a high school senior.

Tyler Dickerson, 18, of South Brunswick, and a 17-year-old boy were allegedly involved in a high-speed two-car race on Jan. 20 near Fox Road that ended with the younger defendant's car slamming into a vacant building, NJ.com reports.
Diana Somarriba, 18, who was a passenger in the 17-year-old's car, died at a local hospital after the crash.
The younger teen, whose name has not been released due to his age, has also been charged with aggravated manslaughter and aggravated assault. He was reportedly released after a Family Court hearing.
Dickerson was also charged with aggravated assault and was released ahead of further proceedings.
Scott Feder, South Brunswick school superintendent, described Somarriba as "very charismatic" and said she planned to go to the military after she graduated.
"She was a very charismatic young lady who was very loyal to her friends who were so important to her," he said in a statement. "Diana was kind, sweet, and likable and always had a smile on her face. Her dream of graduating from high school and joining the military was cut short due to this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Somaribba family and all of her friends."
