OYSTER BAY, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Legendary musician and Long Island-native Billy Joel is selling his 26-acre waterfront estate for $49 million, Newsday reported Sunday.
Joel purchased the Oyster Bay mansion, nicknamed Middlesea, for $22.5 million in 2002.
The 20,000-square-foot house is located on a peninsula near where Joel grew up in Hicksville.
The five-bedroom eight-bathroom home features cathedral ceilings, an exercise room, an inground pool and a helicopter pad.
There’s also a three-bedroom beach house on the property.
Joel had previously listed the house for $32.5 million in 2008, but didn’t end up making a sale.
