MERCER COUNTY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — The body of a New Jersey college student who plunged off a Delaware River bridge two months ago has been recovered and identified, authorities said.

A witness saw 24-year-old Zachary Lodato, of Mercer County, jump into the river from the Lower Trenton Bridge on Jan. 27, according to the Bucks County Coroner's Office in Pennsylvania, NJ.com reported.

A fisherman found the Rider University student’s body on March 21 and notified authorities.

"Preliminary autopsy findings revealed evidence of prolonged water immersion and no obvious signs of trauma," the coroner’s office said in a stat. "Cause and manner of death are pending further investigation and final autopsy report."

The university announced Lodato's death in February, saying that he was a senior organizational psychology major.
