Florida man convicted for fatal shooting in Jersey City BJ's parking lot

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 37-year-old Florida man was convicted Tuesday of fatally shooting a 34-year-old man in a Jersey City BJ’s Wholesale Club parking lot in 2021, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ariel Dumit shot Christian Parra, a Jersey City-native, in the torso in the parking lot on Marin Boulevard near Metro Plaza Drive.

Emergency responders rushed Parra to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The jury convicted Dumit of murder and weapons charges. He faces 30 years-to-life in prison.
