NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A hit-and-run driver fatally struck a 30-year-old man Monday night in Island Park in the Nassau County town of Hempstead, according to authorities.

The victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Long Beach Road north of Marina Place, around 9 p.m.
The driver, unidentified by the police, ran off after hitting the victim.
The victim suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local
hospital but he could not be saved.
No arrests have been made.
