UNIONDALE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A man was arrested Saturday after he exposed himself in front of two women at a store in a Long Island mall that he had previously been barred from and chased them into a stock room, police said.

Nassau County police responded around 10:20 a.m. to the Kate Spade in the Roosevelt Field Mall on Old Country Road for a disturbance.

A 19-year-old woman and a 42-year-old woman were approached by the suspect, who began exposing himself and then proceeded to chase the victims causing them to lock themselves in the stock room.

The man did make several attempts to gain entry into the stock room before leaving the scene, police said. They immediately called the police.

Dwight Clermont, 27, was eventually arrested without incident.

Clermont was found to have two active arrest warrants and to have previously been banned from the mall after further investigation.

He has been charged with third-degree battery, third-degree attempted burglary, public lewdness, sexually motivated felony and attempted sexually motivated felony.

Anyone who feels as though they may have been victimized by Clermont to please contact police at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
