1 killed, 1 injured in Washington Heights double shooting

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating a double shooting that left one dead and another injured overnight Sunday in Washington Heights, authorities said.

At approximately 8:38 p.m., officials responded to 911 calls of two males shot in the vicinity of West 176 Street and Audubon Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the left leg.

EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

According to police, 25-year-old Danny Trinidad sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported by private means to Columbia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
