The FDNY said a 2-alarm fire at the Hotel Pennsylvania across from Penn Station is now under control after flames began at around 2 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the once-historic high-rise.
Officials said 20 units and 78 firefighters responded to the blaze.
The 23-story building, which was built in 1919 and is currently closed to the public, has reportedly begun to be demolished.
No injuries are reported at this time and operations are ongoing, officials said.
