NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Officials discovered two boxes of grenades inside the Brooklyn home of a late 98-year-old woman on Monday morning, authorities said.

The discovery was made at around 9:15 a.m., while someone was cleaning out the basement of the residence located on 48th Street near Third Avenue in Sunset Park, police said.
The NYPD’s Bomb Squad was called to the home where 10 inert training grenades were found, sources told the New York Post.
No further information was provided regarding the 98-year-old woman who resided in the home and died in March 2021.
