
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Two men were killed and a third was injured in two shootings and a stabbing over a three-hour span in Queens on Monday, police said.

The violence started just before 4 p.m. at a home on Mexico Street, near Turin Drive, in St. Albans.
Officers responding to a 911 call found a 23-year-old man face-up on the floor of a basement apartment with gunshot wounds to his shoulder, torso and thigh.
EMS transported the victim in critical condition to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
He was later identified as Daniel Ortiz of Brooklyn.
Less than three hours later and about a mile away, a man was stabbed to death and a second man was shot and wounded in the area of 109-02 Merrick Blvd. in Jamaica.
Someone called 911 around 6:30 p.m., and responding officers found a man with multiple stab wounds to his body.
The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.
A short time later, a 39-year-old man walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police said they believe he was shot in the vicinity of the Merrick Boulevard address.
No arrests have been reported in either incident, police said. Investigations are ongoing.
