PHOTO: Gunman sought after teen shot aboard Bronx subway train: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released a new photo on Thursday of a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of an 18-year-old man who was targeted aboard a subway train in the Bronx last week.

According to police, the incident occurred on Jan. 10 at around 3:11 p.m., when the victim got into a verbal altercation with an unknown individual aboard a northbound 2 train at the Bronx Park East subway station, which escalated into a fist fight.

While the two began to fight, the suspect displayed a gun and fired several rounds, striking the victim three times, which caused serious injuries.

Police said the individual fled the train platform on foot in an unknown direction.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police said the suspect is described as being 18 to 20 years old.
