Woman has hair pulled, placed in headlock during robbery at UWS subway station: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are searching for two men accused of placing a woman in a headlock during a robbery inside an Upper West Side subway station early Monday, authorities said.

According to police, at around 3:45 a.m the 62-year-old victim was standing at the mezzanine area of the 1 train at the 96th Street station when the two men approached her and demanded her phone.

The suspects who police described to be two men in their 20s pulled the woman by the hair before putting her in a headlock before grabbing her phone and fleeing, authorities said.

The victim refused medical attention, the NYPD said.

An investigation remains ongoing.
