NEW VIDEO: Couple sought in string of burglaries targeting Queens businesses

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Monday released new surveillance footage after five additional incidents have been added to a string of burglaries in Queens, authorities said.

The NYPD had been searching for a man and woman they said burglarized the New Happy Home Furniture Store in Flushing, on September 21, 2021, taking $40,000 with them.

Three of the additional incidents occurred in late February including one burglary that happened on Friday, February 25, at approximately 4:17 p.m. in the vicinity of Sanford Avenue and College Point Boulevard in Flushing when a 36-year-old employee discovered property missing and called police, the NYPD said.

An investigation determined that earlier that same day, at approximately 3:30 a.m., an unknown man and woman broke open a secured front door. Once inside the suspects stole approximately $150 from a drawer and fled on foot.

The latest incident happened on Tuesday, March 1, at approximately 11 a.m. in the vicinity of Maple Avenue and Kissena Boulevard in Flushing after a 36-year-old employee discovered property missing and called police, officials said.

A subsequent investigation determined that earlier that day, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a suspect broke into the location and open a secured front door.

Once inside the individual removed approximately $1,800 from a drawer and fled on foot.

There were no injuries reported in any of the additional incidents.
