NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Three people were charged with concealing the body of a 31-year-old woman whose remains were found inside a plastic bin in the Bronx last month, police said Thursday.

The two women and one man were each charged Wednesday with concealment of a human corpse in connection with the grisly discovery in the Wakefield section on the afternoon of June 9.

One of them told investigators that they discovered the woman unconscious and chose to discard her body, police said.

A potential motive is unknown, and none of them have been charged in her death, according to police.

The woman appears to have been dumped in a "wooded area" at the end of Edison Avenue, police said. The area, just south of the MTA 239th Street Yard, is reportedly a path often used as a shortcut by locals.

Her body was semi-decomposed when it was discovered around 12:15 p.m. that afternoon.

She was later identified as Lauri Duffy, of Keyport, New Jersey.

The medical examiner is working to determine her cause of death.

The case has not been classified as a homicide as the investigation continues.

All three suspects—Gilree Scott, 67, Dorine Plowden, 62, and Maxine Rodriguez, 59—are listed as residents of the same apartment building about a half-mile from the scene where the body was found, according to police.

Their possible connection to the woman, if any, wasn't immediately clear.
