Woman's semi-decomposed body found in trash bin behind Bronx house

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police found the semi-decomposed body of a woman stuffed in a trash bin behind a house in the Bronx’s Wakefield neighborhood Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of a body at a home on Edson Avenue near Nereid Avenue around 12:16 p.m., officials said.

They found the semi-decomposed corpse in a plastic trash bin behind the last house at a dead end on the street.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The New York City Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will determine her cause of death. Authorities are still attempting to identify the woman’s remains.

Police have not yet made any arrests, and an investigation is ongoing.
