NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Three men have been charged after authorities seized an array of drugs and weapons, including assault rifles and a stolen handgun, at three Newark homes, prosecutors said Friday.

On Nov. 22, members of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force and the Newark Police Emergency Response Team executed search warrants in three Newark locations: the 100 block of Hedden Terrace, the 100 block of Oakland Terrace and the 100 block of Leo Place.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said that "major contraband" was seized during the search, including about 590 grams of cocaine and nearly 642 grams of heroin, which is more than one pound of each drug.

Seven firearms were also discovered, including two assault rifles and five handguns, one of which was reported stolen out of state, as well as two high-capacity magazines.

Dennis Julu, Demetrius Julu, and Altariq Webb, all of Newark, were charged with multiple counts of possession of controlled drugs with intent to distribute, maintaining a controlled drugs production facility and several weapons offenses, prosecutors said.

The relationship between the Julus wasn't immediately clear.
