5 cars stolen from Queens auto body shop, suspects sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating after five cars were stolen from an auto body shop in Queens, authorities said Wednesday as they searched for a pair of suspects.

At approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, five suspects entered the Essential Auto Care located at 69-90 73rd Pl. in Flushing, through a window while the business was closed, officials said.

One suspect forcefully entered an office inside of the auto body shop and removed multiple sets of keys to vehicles being stored outside of the shop.

The suspects proceeded to take five vehicles before fleeing in various directions, police said.

Three of the vehicles were recovered unoccupied at later dates.

One of the vehicles was recovered occupied, and an arrest was made in regard, cops said.

The outstanding vehicle that has not yet been recovered is a gray 2018 BMW 5 series, police said.

No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

Officials released video footage of two of the suspects being sought.
