NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An ex-boyfriend is reportedly being questioned—and a half-dozen “witnesses” are being sought—in the murder and dismemberment of a 22-year-old woman in Brooklyn last month.
The ex-boyfriend of D'Asia Johnson was reportedly at the 75th Precinct stationhouse in East New York on Sunday, the New York Post reported, citing law enforcement sources.
He’s reportedly been on investigators’ radar since Johnson’s remains were found in two suitcases at her apartment on the afternoon of Sept. 21.
Sources told the Daily News that he’d been arrested and handed over to police in Nassau County, where he had at least one warrant, but the NYPD wasn’t immediately able to confirm that and Nassau police said the transfer wouldn’t happen that fast even if he were arrested.
No charges has been filed as of Monday, police said.

The news comes as the NYPD released images Monday of five women and one man who investigators are looking to speak with in connection with the grisly case.
Police believe the half-dozen “witnesses” were in the apartment after the killing took place. It's unclear what they may have been doing there.
A neighbor at the apartment building on Linwood Street told PIX11 that he often heard fighting coming from apartment 6F.
“You hear arguing, banging, loud stuff,” the resident said. “If you tried to interrupt or something like that, you’re just putting yourself in a problem you can’t solve.”
He said he saw evidence the fights turned physical: “Somebody gets hit very hard in the mouth, right? The blood trail will lead from the door to the elevator.”

Johnson had a restraining order against her ex, and he was arrested in March for violating the order by showing up at her apartment to pick up his belongings, according to reports.
A man believed to be the ex-boyfriend was in the apartment on the afternoon of Sept. 21, when the building’s security tried to check on Johnson, who hadn’t been seen in about a month, a senior NYPD official told WNBC.

The man wouldn’t let security into the apartment, and when they went to call police, he left the apartment with another man who was carrying a black duffel bag, the NYPD official said.
Security then entered the apartment and reportedly found a meat cleaver and blood in the bathtub, leading to a police search warrant that uncovered the suitcases containing Johnson’s remains.
