NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – New video shows a 62-year-old man being knocked to the ground and then stabbed and slashed by a group of men near Times Square this week.
The NYPD released the video Thursday as they continue to search for seven men in Wednesday morning’s attack in Hell's Kitchen.
The victim was on W. 44th Street, between Eighth and Ninth avenues, just after 5:30 a.m. when a man came up to him from behind and hit him with what appears to be a piece of wood.
The blow knocked the victim to the ground, where he was attacked by six other men, police said.
Video shows the group surrounding the victim. Police said he was stabbed and slashed repeatedly in the fray.
EMS rushed the victim in critical condition to Bellevue Hospital, where he has since stabilized. He suffered stab and slash wounds to his body, head and nose.
Police said all seven suspects fled on foot after the attack.
It's unclear what sparked the assault. Police said Wednesday that it may have followed some sort of dispute.
