Man's backpack with $150K in jewelry stolen inside Manhattan subway station; trio sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released images Thursday of a female suspect and her apparent accomplices who are wanted for stealing a backpack containing $150,000 worth of jewelry inside a Lower Manhattan subway station last month, authorities said.

It was reported to police that on November 28, 2022, just after 2 p.m., inside the Canal Street and Broadway subway station,

A 52-year-old man attempted to remove a MetroCard from his wallet and placed his book bag containing $150,000 worth of jewelry on the ground, police said.

According to officials, the female suspect alerted the man that he had dropped money in front of him. After he picked up the money, he realized that his bag had been replaced with a bag he did not recognize, with all of the bag's contents missing.
