Upon arrival, police observed a 2009 BMW 328 with extensive exterior damage and its airbags deployed, as well as a Toyota Rav4 with front passenger side damage.

EMS removed three men from the BMW and they were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Jacobi, where the driver, 30-year-old Alwayne Hylton was pronounced dead.

The other two occupants of the BMW, a 26-year-old male and a 37-year-old male, are both listed in stable condition with head and body trauma, officials said.

The 51-year-old woman driving the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was also transported to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation determined that Hylton was operating the BMW and traveling southbound on the Bruckner Expressway when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the elevated embankment at the location, resulting in the vehicle landing onto the northbound lanes of travel below, colliding with the Toyota, which was traveling northbound.
