NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Three teens as young as 13 years old were arrested on murder and other charges in the death of a teen boy who was fatally stabbed outside a Coney Island strip mall this month.

The teens were arrested and charged Sunday night in the 60th Precinct, which covers Coney Island.

The youngest of the three suspects—a 13-year-old boy—was charged with murder.

Two other boys, 14 and 15 years old, were each charged with two counts of assault and one count of gang assault.

Their identities have been withheld because of their age.

Police arrested them in connection with the death of 17-year-old Nyheem Wright, of Coney Island.

Wright lived about five blocks away from the strip mall at 3001 Mermaid Ave. where he was fatally stabbed around 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 20.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found the teen with a stab wound to his torso. He was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 21.

A GoFundMe page describes Wright as an “ambitious kid determined to write his own narrative.”

“He valued his family and time spent with his brothers, and anyone he called a friend was honored to have been graced with his huge smile and silly sense of humor,” the page reads.

Police said the investigation into his killing is ongoing.
