NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 14-year-old has been charged with fatally stabbing a man at a NYCHA complex on Staten Island this week, police said Friday.
The teen was arrested Thursday and faces murder, manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
The 14-year-old stabbed 36-year-old Jamel Carmona to death inside the Stapleton Houses at 75 Hill St. around 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to police, who didn't identify him because of his age.
The teen is accused of stabbing the man once in the chest after an argument turned violent. Video surveillance reportedly captured Carmona entering 75 Hill St. and approaching the 14-year-old boy prior to the attack.
Carmona, who lives in a different building in the apartment complex, was found lying in a pool of blood in a second-floor hallway area near the stairwell, a source told SILive.com.
Medics rushed him to Staten Island University North Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
