NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- The NYPD arrested an ex-con in last month's shocking sex attack in which a woman was punched unconscious and raped on a Queens street by a man riding a scooter.
Tony Kempsey, 58, was charged Thursday afternoon with rape, assault and sexual abuse.
Kempsey, of Brooklyn, was identified Wednesday as the NYPD's prime suspect in the April 30 rape on the border of Woodside and Maspeth.
Kempsey is on lifetime parole after he was convicted of second-degree murder in the slashing of a subway rider in 2012, the New York Post reported.
The 49-year-old victim was hospitalized at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in serious but stable condition following the early morning rape.

Police said she was walking home around 5 a.m. when an unknown man approached on a motorized scooter.
He started up a conversation with her, and she got onto the back of the scooter. It's unclear if she did so willingly, as she's unable to remember some details of the ordeal.
He drove for a short distance to 48th Avenue and 72nd Street, where he attacked her.
He punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, where she hit her head and lost consciousness. He then raped her while she was unconscious, police said.
As the victim was regaining consciousness, she saw her attacker driving away on the scooter.
