VIDEO: Boy, 16, charged in fatal shooting outside Upper Manhattan lounge

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A second teen boy was arrested in the September 2021 shooting death of a man at an Upper Manhattan lounge, authorities said.

Police charged a 16-year-old boy with murder, robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Monday, September 20, at approximately 4:12 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of shots fired in front of Opus Lounge located at 3775 10th Ave in Washington Heights.

Upon arrival, officers observed 35-year-old Jeffrey Sanchez, sustained gunshot wounds to the torso and a 42-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the right forearm.

EMS transported the Sanchez to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 42-year-old victim was taken by EMS to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

On December 17, 2021, authorities arrested 19-year-old Damian Suarez. He is charged with murder and robbery.
