Boy, 16, fatally shot while being chased in Brooklyn: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 16-year-old Brooklyn boy was shot and killed on Wednesday evening, reportedly while being chased down a street.

Jaden Turnage was shot on Monroe Street, between Classon and Franklin avenues, in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 6:15 p.m.

Turnage was being chased at the time he was shot, according to WABC.

Officers responding to a 911 call found the 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was transported to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests were immediately reported.

Turnage’s death comes a day after another 16-year-old boy, Cahlil Pennington, was fatally shot at Miller and Pitkin avenues in East New York on Tuesday afternoon.

Investigations into both shootings are ongoing, police said.
