NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The Broadway League announced Monday that it will be extending its mask and COVID-19 vaccine requirements for theater productions through April.

All theatergoers over the age of 12 must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend a performance at all 41 Broadway theaters in Manhattan.
That policy has been in place since mid-December, and will continue through April 30, according to the Broadway League.
Additionally, on Jan. 29, theaters will begin requiring all children ages 5-11 be fully vaccinated before attending performances as well, in accordance with New York City’s Key to NYC Guidelines.
The Broadway League is also extending the “Buy With Confidence” program, which created a more flexible exchange and refund policy for ticket buyers amid the pandemic.
"We're proud to continue setting the gold standard of COVID health protocols in all our Broadway theatres in New York,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League. “Our theatres and world class shows are open for business, ready to welcome and enrapture our audiences, as we've done every day for the past five months. Come join us!”
Masks will continue to be required for all audience members inside the theaters, except when actively eating or drinking in designated locations.
Guests under the age of 5 will be permitted to enter when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult so long as they show proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
While many Broadway shows have had to cancel performances over the last two months due to positive COVID-19 tests within their companies, theater officials are stressing that The Great White Way is open.
