SUV runs red light, leaves 2 11-year-old girls hospitalized in Bronx hit-and-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for the driver of a black SUV who slammed into two 11-year-old girls in a Bronx hit-and-run crash on Tuesday.

The SUV ran a red light at the intersection of Arthur Avenue and 180th Street in Crotona around 5:40 p.m., authorities said.

The children were reportedly attempting to cross the street when they were hit.

Emergency responders took both kids to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.

Officials say both victims are expected to survive.

Police have not yet made any arrests, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
