NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 62-year-old man was fatally shot in the head in the Bronx over the weekend, police said Monday as they investigated his killing.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found the victim, identified as Russell Scott Wells, unconscious on E. 219th Street, near Barnes Avenue, in Williamsbridge just after 5 a.m. Saturday.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately known, and it’s unclear if the victim was shot inside a home or outside on the street.
